Contemporary NSTEMI Management Video: The Role of the Hospitalist
Target Audience
This activity is designed for Hospitalists and other health care professionals involved in the care and management of patients with NSTEMI.
Educational Goal
The purpose of this education is to provide participants with evidence-based information in the management of non-ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) in a number of different clinical scenarios.
Learning Objectives
- Describe optimal approaches to risk stratification in hospitalized patients with NSTEMI
- Explain the options for timing and type of therapy in the upstream setting aimed at limiting ischemic damage in NSTEMI
- Define the management of important comorbidities in NSTEMI
- Identify the key components of meeting standard of care and Core Measure outcomes in the hospital discharge of patients admitted for NSTEMI
- Explain a working differential diagnosis for elevated troponin levels outside the clinical setting of ACS
- Describe the risk benefit balance of anticoagulant and antiplatelet therapy in managing ACS
